The Zebulon package allows an unprecedented flexibility in the specification of boundary conditions and commanded parameters. All standard mechanical and thermal boundary conditions are provided, including limited times of application and rate forms. Multi-point constraints are also provided to allow incompatible meshes, incompressible fluid cavities, sectorial symmetry, etc.
Any number of externally defined parameters (such and a previously calculated temperature field) may specified in a problem. The parameters may use any mix of uniform values, file stored values, or even user program calculated values.
This gas turbine disk with elastic-viscoplastic material is
modeled with a cyclic loading comprised of several point
loads, centrifugal body acceleration, and non-uniform
temperature distributions.
Tests have been performed on artificial rock salt and are here compared
with the SUVIC material model. The tests required application of a confining
pressure, followed by strain rate controlled cyclic deformation. Easy handling
of load switching is defined for all boundary conditions.
This calculation of a bolted pipe uses combined pressure, imposed nodal DOF,
sectorial symmetry MPCs (it is intentionally doubled for 2 bolts to be included),
and incompatible mesh joining (the bolt heads).
